Born in 1946, Nagasaki.
Joined the Tenjo Sajiki theater troupe in 1967.
Studied abroad at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 1976.
Won the Silver award at the Exhibition of Japan Illustration in 1983, the Grand Prize at the 1993 Memorial of AOKI SHIGERU Art Biennale, and the Grand Prize at the 1995 Beppu Modern Art Exhibition. Began making pottery in 1997. Enjoys a large fan following for his individual works of art, crafted with elaborate and detailed precision. The artist expresses an expansive world of deep emotion and sensitivity through his works of pottery.

Ceramic artist Taka Masu held his first solo exhibition, “Forest of Happiness,” at SHOKEN IZU in 2025. As an expressive artist, Masu boldly tackled three-dimensional works, which left a deep impression on the viewer. Her works have a witty essence, a sense of humor, and an allure that gently invites the viewer to enter the forest of happiness that lies within.
